Farewell reception for Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khalid

On June 9, the China International Cultural Communication Center(CICCC) held a farewell ceremony for H.E. Mr. Masood Khalid, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the People’s Republic of China, and his wife Mrs. Sonia Sunghee Song.In his farewell speech, Ambassador Khalid reminisced on his term between 2013 and 2019 and paid special attention to China-Pakistan Friendship Association, which was revived on Ambassador’s request soon after his arrival in China. Khalid also emphasized the work of CICCC and told that he hopes to see the center continuing its work on China-Pakistan relations especially in the areas of education, culture, tourism and sports. “What we need is more cooperation and more interaction at people-to-people level”, Khalid said.

The President of China-Pakistan Friendship Association Sha Zukang expressed his gratitude to Ambassador’s contributions.

Sha Zukang, the President of China-Pakistan Friendship Association,also delivered a speech expressing his gratitude to Ambassador’s contributions on further strengthening China-Pakistan relations and working as a talented communicator between the two nations.

The Executive Chairman of CICCC Long Yuxiang was awarded Sitara-e-Pakistan civil award.

In the ceremony, also Sitara-e-Pakistan civil award was conferred on Long Yuxiang, the Executive Chairman of CICCC in recognition of his work on promoting the friendship between China and Pakistanand strengthening people-to-people exchanges. The award was conferred on Long by Ambassador Khalid on behalf of Pakistani President Arif Alvi.
